If you’re considering taking this freediving course, but are unsure of what it’s like, or whether it is for you, stop thinking about it and do it. After finishing the course, I was able to dive to depths which I had been to before, but now with such ease. Everyone else in the group was diving to depths they had never been to before, and thought they never could. The course is big on safety, but mixes it right in with the diving, so you don’t get bored with it, and it really is important. They teach you things you never knew, and get you diving more comfortably then you ever have. If you spearfish, the course will get you way more bottom time. Mine has increased significantly. Ted Harty is the instructor, and is really concerned with you getting your money’s worth, while at the same time making sure you are safe and learning what he’s teaching. Ted has a lot to teach you, so If he asks you to do something before the class starts, like read through the book, or get with him about how you are clearing before you dive, he is only trying to help you by getting some stuff out of the way so you get more time in the water. So if you sign up for the class, and he asks you to do something, it is in your best interest to do it. It’s simple and takes only a few minutes. Ted is great teacher, and is also really concerned that you are getting what you pay for, and if you take this course, you will get just that.
